STOP Diarrhoea Campaign

“STOP Diarrhoea Campaign” is an intensified effort of MoHFW to address the issue of childhood diarrhoea. It is a campaign activity to address potentially high incidence of diarrhoea during the summer/monsoon season and floods / natural calamity. This is a 2-months campaign, in which 2 ORS packets and 14 tab of Zinc in a co-packaging are distributed amongst under 5 children.

  • Promote ORS and Zinc Use: To ensure universal availability and use of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and zinc tablets as effective treatment for diarrhoea.
  • Strengthen Prevention: To advocate for improved hygiene practices, including handwashing, safe drinking water and sanitation to prevent diarrhoea.
  • Enhance Awareness: To educate communities about diarrhoea management, emphasizing home-based care and timely referral.
  • Improve Health System Response: To train healthcare workers and strengthen health infrastructure for management of Diarrhoea.
